A nice lady named Tiffany found the poor little kittens and was not able to keep them so she did the right thing and found someone to help her. At 10:15 on a Monday morning we met up and I got the kittens. I took them to a vet who was able to see them right away and was extremely helpful and so nice. He gave me drops to put in the kittens eyes 4 times a day to clear up the virus that was the cause of their eye issues. They had goo all over their eyes that no matter how much you cleaned off just kept coming. The 2 girls had one dried up eye that didn't look like an eye at all! Really nasty. I did not take any pictures of them at this point in their lives because, well I couldn't look at it for too long.
I have had the babies for 3 days now and they look so much better! The dried up eyes are full and no longer 1/2 the size they should be. They could and will probably still need surgery to remove the eyes. so without further mindless typing here are the stars!
This would be the brother, we call him Simba
Helen Keller of Troy
Purdy
Gnomeo

Oh my! They look so much better! :-) I miss them, especially little Helen of Troy (by the way, very cute names!). So I see that Helen and Purdy will probably have to remove an eye. Did the vet mention if the other eye is functioning on the girls? I sure hope so..
Thank you for this blog! I love all the pictures. :-))
They seem to be able to see at least a little because they don't walk into walks and Purdy will follow me around. The vet said they may have to have eyes removed at a later date but it's too risky at this point. Plus if the eye is fine but not functioning it can stay in. I am hoping for the eyes to be ok, but I am thinking at least one of them will wind up losing an eye. Gnomeo actual has worse eye sight than Purdy, which shocked me!
Poor guys. I hops so too. By the way, I posted a link to your blog on my facebook. I'm hoping that I can entice a few people to donate to you guys :-)
Thank you! My group won't take them in at this time because of the potential cost for them, soooo it's all on me. My husband doesn't know that tidbit just yet. So any and all donations are greatly appreciated!
